Hot Tap On A Cold Day

On Monday January 6th our emergency spill response team was requested to an overturned fuel tanker. We were specifically requested for our hot tap capabilities to syphon the fuel from the tanker to make it safe to be recovered. Our crews were able to ground the truck, tap all 4 compartments and removed approximately 4,200 gallons of fuel in under 4 hours. The below freezing temperatures proved to be a challenge for the team however we were able to quickly overcome the cold and take care of the incident quickly.
