Chemical Spill On Interstate 840

On Father’s day our Emergency Spill Response Team was requested to Interstate 840 for a spill of toxic chemicals. Upon arrival the site was surveyed and determined to be dangerous to personnel on scene and established a staging area, cold zone, warm zone and hot zone. Crews donned appropriate chemical protective gear and made the scene safe overpacking several damaged and leaking barrels and containing the spill. This incident put our teams skill and state of the art decontamination techniques to the test! Our dedicated team made quick work of the incident and reopened both lanes of traffic quickly after the scene was safe.
